Sustainability

Making changes for positive outcomes

Our mission is to take responsible decisions to benefit our community, customers, and the environment around us.

We are leading the way on sustainability at Elliots Field and in the surrounding environment and seek to provide tenants and visitors with information on ESG-related issues plus opportunities for action to create positive change.

Biodiversity at Elliots Field

Biodiversity

A vital canal bankside nature area has been created for wildlife, protecting wild orchids and providing priority habitats for wild butterfly species.

22,000 new plants, bird boxes, bat boxes, and log pile habitats have created a thriving community of plants and animals at the park.

A green roof above the cycle storage provides a habitat for pollinating insects.

Energy / Carbon

Elliott's Field is the world’s first BREEAM 'Outstanding' shopping park, meaning the buildings meet strict sustainability standards and is the first of its kind to be regulated carbon neutral.

36 cycle spaces, with cycle paths linking the park to local cycle routes, have been created.

300 tonnes of CO2 saved annually through the solar panels on the roofs of the retailers.

4,500 sqm of roof is covered in solar panels, generating enough power to make the development fully carbon neutral.
